Ένας σκύλος, τον οποίο φρόντιζε ο αστυνομικός Φετχί Σεκίν, ο οποίος σκοτώθηκε από τα πυρά των δραστών, κατά την τρομοκρατική επίθεση στα δικαστήρια της Σμύρνης, παραμένει στο ίδιο σημείο από την ημέρα της επίθεσης.

Ο Σεκίν, ο οποίος εργαζόταν στα δικαστήρια της Σμύρνης επί δέκα χρόνια έως την ημέρα της επίθεσης, φρόντιζε τον αδέσποτο σκύλο Ζεϊτίν. Μάλιστα, βιντεοσκοπημένο υλικό από την επίθεση δείχνει τον Ζεϊτίν να τρέχει πίσω από τον Σεκίν κατά τη διάρκεια του περιστατικού.

Ο αστυνομικός εμπόδισε τους δράστες να μπουν εντός του κτιρίου, γεγονός που θα οδηγούσε ίσως σε περισσότερα θύματα. Ωστόσο, ο ίδιος έχασε τη ζωή του και ο πιστός του φίλος έκτοτε παραμένει εκεί όπου έπεσε νεκρός.

Φίλοι του νεκρού αστυνομικού δήλωσαν ότι αγαπούσε τα ζώα σχεδόν όσο και τους ανθρώπους.
